Marathon Man

Congrats on finishing the half marathon Justin! Amazing accomplishment for anyone, let alone one year after a heart transplant. Really helps put things in perspective and motivates the rest of us too.

Lisa talking to Channel 8 about Justin. Unfortunately, we've now lost her to hollywood, as the brief screen time quickly went to her head.

Celebration lunch with some BBQ soul food at Felix's in Carlsbad. Dom and his baby son Gavin showed up to give us tips on how to get the ladies. Think Manny by the pool in Scarface, showing Tony the same thing.

Then finally wind down the night at the local bum bar Tobacco Rhodas for some pool lessons from a sassy sista, and a room full of bums yelling at the tv and each other during the football game. Good Times.

Casual pre-race saturday

Afternoon BBQ and DJ Donger at bar pink.

Who's back baby!

This rain is crazy lately. We have this dude to thank for that.

The Expendables are here

Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Terry Crews (aka Damon).

How fucking ridiculous does this sound? Guess Van Damme and Kevin Sorbo had their ringers turned off last year, because they should be in this movie too. Trailer looks like Rambo meets The Italian Job.

P.S. Check out Sly with the six shooter half way through.

New band to look out for

This "project" played two surprise gigs in LA last October, which I unfortunately found out about a week too late. The group was comprised of singer/guitarist/piano Thom Yorke (Radiohead), bassist Flea (Chili Peppers) Nigel Godrich playing synths/beats (producer for Radiohead, Paul McCartney, and Beck) drummer Joey Waronker (Beck, and session work with Smashing Pumpkins, Elliott Smith, and REM) and brazilian percusionist Mauro Refosco.

They mainly played songs of Thom's solo album, but could have some original stuff in the future. Neither Yorke or Flea will be leaving their respective bands, but they liked the gig so much, they'll be back some time in 2010. Can't wait to see what sort of creative avenue they decide to go down with Flea's bass and Yorke's guitar/piano. The heavy and fast bass line Flea added to the first song here, is really an interesting match to the piano, and shows good things may be coming.

"Cymbal Rush"

"Harrowdown Hill"

Work is a four letter word

Back to the grind. Last two weeks up and vanished like a fart in the
wind.

Lazy Day

Just chillin like this dude today.

2010

Hungover breakfast on New Years Day, followed by a trip to the Zammit hacienda for delicious street tacos, Tequila, and Wii Mario Cart/Bowling/Tennis/Golf. Zam declares it his best day in six months to a year.

Not a bad way to start the decade.

Happy New Year Jerks!!!

Party at Steves. He wasn't invited.

"Two lovers entwined, pass me by."

Midnight at the Tower Bar with the Creepy Creeps. Some dude got headbutted and knocked the fuck out in the mosh pit after groping the other guys girlfriend.

Other highlights include a house party in south park with Shaka-Khan, an invitation to another party down the street where we were met by a confused owner waiving a golf club, and finally a mad dash for booze at 1:55am.

Happy New Year everyone!
